Discover Maun
The gateway to the Okavango Delta
We Are Based In Maun
Maun is the fifth-largest town in Botswana. It has a population of 55,784. Maun is the “tourism capital” of Botswana and the administrative centre of Ngamiland district. It is also the headquarters of numerous safari and air-charter operations who run trips into the Okavango Delta, Moremi game reserve, Makgadikgadi and many others. Although officially still a village, Maun has developed rapidly from a rural frontier town and has spread along the Thamalakane River. It now has shopping centres, hotels and lodges as well as car hires. There are many good, restaurants serving local and continental cuisines, curio or gift shops, museum, banks, night clubs, shopping malls.
While in Maun, you can visit the elephant sanctuary, basket weaving in the nearby village, do scenic flight over the Okavango delta, get up-close and candid with wildlife on a horse ride, do Mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions or do a boat cruise along the Thamalakane river. Whether it’s at night or day, Maun buzzes with life and adventure. Accommodation is plenty, comfortable, safe and caters for everyone’s pocket.
Visiting the shopping malls is safe and easily accessible with, public transport, taxis or hotel shuttle buses. There are two major government general hospitals, two 24-hour private clinics and many private day-time clinics.
